Wood species & custom work
The bright coastal look of white oak, the warmth of maple, or the richness of Brazilian cherry — Eduardo installs every species with tight seams, perfect transitions and a finish built for Florida homes. Found solid hardwood hiding under the carpet? Refinishing it is almost always cheaper than laying a new floor, and we'll say so.

Eduardo helps you choose during your free estimate — here's a head start.
The Florida favorite. Naturally water-resistant, takes any stain beautifully — from coastal light to modern natural.
Bright, clean grain with a smooth contemporary look. Very hard — great for busy households.
The wood of historic Sarasota homes. Warm amber tones that get richer with age.
Deep reddish-brown exotic hardwood, one of the hardest floors you can buy. Dramatic and elegant.
Eco-friendly, harder than oak in strand-woven form, and excellent in humid climates.
Real wood veneer over a stable core. The most humidity-stable option — ideal for concrete slabs.
The most common question we get in Sarasota. The honest answer: it depends on your home — here's how they compare.
| Solid Hardwood | Engineered | |
|---|---|---|
| Real wood surface | Yes | Yes — real wood veneer |
| Handles Florida humidity | Good, with proper acclimation | Excellent |
| Install over concrete slab | Limited | Yes |
| Can be refinished | Yes — several times | Depends on wear-layer thickness |
| Best suited for | Long-term, above-grade rooms | Slabs, humidity & wide planks |
General guidance only — performance and refinishing depend on the specific product, subfloor and installation. Many Sarasota homes sit on concrete slabs, where engineered is often the smart choice. Eduardo confirms the right option for your home during your free estimate.

How it's installed
The right method depends on your wood, your subfloor and your home — Eduardo picks it for you, and explains why.
1The traditional method for solid hardwood over a wood subfloor — boards are nailed or stapled through the tongue, straight into the deck.
Best for: Solid wood, above-grade rooms
2Boards are bonded to the slab with a moisture-control adhesive spread with a notched trowel. Solid underfoot, with no hollow sound.
Best for: Engineered wood over concrete
3Planks lock to each other over a cushioned underlayment instead of the subfloor, letting the floor move naturally with humidity.
Best for: Engineered floors & faster installs
Real project, step by step
From bare subfloor to finished stairs — every step done by Eduardo on a Sarasota new-construction home.
1The subfloor is cleaned, checked for level and moisture, and made ready for a flawless install.
2Wide-plank white oak is dry-laid and racked so the grain and seams fall exactly where they should.
3Each tread and riser is measured, cut and fitted by hand — the most demanding part of the job.
4Sanded, finished and cleaned — a seamless run from the hallway down every stair.
Living in your home during the job
Real photos from one Sarasota job — with the family living there the whole time.
1Boards go down straight and tight, with vents and edges cut clean.
2Only one area is open at a time, so the rest of your home stays usable.
3Doorways and thresholds are fitted so rooms flow without a lip or gap.
4Plastic sheeting, taped seams and the vacuum running — dust stays in the work zone.
5Every scrap hauled away. The only thing left behind is the floor you paid for.

Most homes take 2–5 days including acclimation checks. You get an exact timeline in your written quote.
Yes — we handle tear-out and disposal of carpet, tile, laminate or old wood, and we prepare the subfloor properly before installing.
We move most standard furniture as part of the job. We just ask you to clear personal items, breakables and electronics beforehand. Very heavy pieces like pianos or full-wall units are worth mentioning during your estimate so we can plan for them.
In most cases yes. We work room by room and keep walkways clear so your home stays livable, and we clean up at the end of every workday. Eduardo will tell you which areas to avoid and for how long.
Yes. Most Sarasota homes sit on concrete slabs, and engineered hardwood is designed exactly for that — glued or floated over a proper moisture barrier. Eduardo tests the slab for moisture before installing.
We inspect it before anything goes down. Minor leveling and repairs are part of a normal installation; if we find something bigger, you'll know before we start — never as a surprise on the invoice.
With prefinished hardwood you can usually walk on the floor the same day it's installed. If we sand and finish on site, we'll give you exact times for walking, moving furniture back and putting down rugs.
